Everything you need to know about Greggs Outlet Shops

A Greggs Outlet is a shop where unsold food is redistributed and sold at a lower price.

Greggs Outlet shops help to tackle food waste, while allowing people in certains areas to enjoy Greggs food at a big discount.

Cutting food waste

At Greggs, all food is made fresh daily, meaning at the end of each day, any food that hasn’t been sold is removed from their shelves. To prevent food waste, as much food as possible is sent to the Outlet shops, where it is sold the next day at a discount.

The Greggs Outlet shops mean that every one of the Greggs food manufacturing sites now has an Outlet shop nearby allowing the redistribution of surplus food from production sites, as well as unsold food from Greggs shops. By the end of 2025, 50 Greggs Outlet shops will be providing affordable food in UK locations.

How Greggs Outlets support the Greggs Foundation

As well as offering food at a lower price, Greggs Outlet Shops also support the Greggs Foundation to give a helping hand to the wider community.

A portion of the profits generated from Greggs Outlets is donated to the Greggs Foundation. This is then donated to organisations via the Greggs Foundation Community Grants programme, providing grants to charities working to tackle challenges facing local communities. In 2023, almost £650,000 was donated to local organisations and over 1,000 tonnes of unsold food was donated to local and national charities to redistribute to those in need.

Where to find them

Rising energy and food prices are putting real pressure on every household’s budget, but the poorest families are being hit the hardest. That’s why Greggs Outlet shops are located in areas of higher social deprivation.
