Greggs IT Department offering up christmas cheer to local breakfast clubs
Greggs has always fostered a culture of giving and never is that more evident than in the support internal teams provide to schools and their Breakfast Clubs. Eight teams at Greggs fundraise for 12 schools – that’s 792 children supported every single day through donations from team fundraising.
We have previously highlighted some of the wonderful fundraising by Greggs teams for their schools, and now it’s the turn of the Greggs IT department.
The Greggs IT team have shown their commitment to their two schools - Burradon Primary School and Hawthorn Primary School – by raising enough this year to fund both schools until the end of 2025.
So successful was their fundraising activities that the team also delivered a generous pre-Christmas surprise. Each school received a special grant of £2,000 to ensure the children could celebrate Christmas with some extra cheer.
At Burradon Primary School, some of the £2,000 grant will be used to ensure every child will receive a Christmas cracker to enjoy during their Christmas school lunch. It will also help fund a new quiet area within the school to ensure children have a space to regulate their emotions away from the hustle and bustle of the classroom.
Burradon Primary were pleased to offer the chance to make Christmas lunch go off with a bang, commenting: “Many thanks for the Christmas crackers for our school Christmas lunch this year, they were enjoyed by all of our children.”
The additional grant donation highlights the IT team's extra fundraising efforts to spread some joy and kindness during the Christmas season.
Both schools have expressed their heartfelt thanks, and the IT team, and all the teams supporting schools at Greggs can take pride in knowing they have made a lasting impact on their local community.
A huge thank you from all of us at The Greggs Foundation for all the support and fundraising you undertake on behalf of Breakfast Clubs!
